Abstract
Objective To explore the application of nursing model based on pediatric early warning system(PEWS)in neonatal jaundice. Methods A total of 96 neonates with jaundice treated in the Neonatology Department of Juye County People's Hospital from January 2022 to December 2023 were selected as the observation subjects and divided into two groups according to the order of admission, with 48 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing, and the observation group received nursing model based on PEWS on the basis of control group.Symptom improvement, jaundice index, and physical and neurological development were compared between the two groups. Results The time of first defecation, jaundice resolution, and fetal stool turning yellow in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group(P<0.05).The jaundice index of the observation group was lower than that of the control group on the 5th day after admission(P<0.05).After nursing, head circumference, body length, and body weight in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).After nursing, the scores of active muscle tone, passive muscle tone, general behavior, primitive reflex, and behavioral ability in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Nursing model based on PEWS can improve symptoms of neonates with jaundice, reduce jaundice index, promote physical and neurological development of children, and accelerate the recovery.关键词
