Baku Climate Conference Outcome Analysis and Unfinished Topics

Abstract
On November 24,2024,the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change(COP29)concluded in Baku,the capital of Azerbaijan,and finally reached a balanced package of results of the Baku Climate Solidarity Pact.The main outcomes of COP29 include meeting climate finance targets,activating loss and damage funds,building global carbon markets,updating nationally determined contributions,refining national adaptation plans and global adaptation goals.Baku's results are not satisfactory,and global climate governance faces many difficulties,such as large aid financing gap,many differences between climate responsibilities and obligations,fierce geopolitical conflicts,and slow progress in just transition.China should actively participate in addressing climate change and unswervingly implement the goals,principles and institutional frameworks established by the UNFCCC and its Paris Agreement;adhere to multilateralism and actively promote international cooperation on global climate change;strengthen early warning and enhance climate adaptation capacity;achieve the"double carbon"goal on schedule according to established plans,and build more stable internal support for promoting and leading global climate governance.关键词
