Meta-analysis of Different Pretreatment Methods on Biogas Production from Rice Straw

Abstract
This research is to analyze quantitatively the effects of pretreatment methods on biogas production from rice straw,so as to clarify the effects of different pretreatment methods,which could provide reference for a more suitable and effective pretreatment method.A meta-analysis was performed to search and screen the published literatures about the effects of different pretreatment methods on biogas production from rice straw in Chinese document databases,and the data-base included 54 related studies and 565 pairs of experiment data.The results showed that:1)compared with no pretreat-ment,the effect size(SMD)of physical pretreatment was 1.27,the differences were extremely significant(p<0.0001);the effect size(SMD)of chemical pretreatment was 2.05,the differences were extremely significant(p<0.00001);the effect size(SMD)of biological pretreatment was 1.00,the differences were significant(p<0.05);the effect size(SMD)of combined pretreatment was 4.29,the differences were extremely significant(p<0.00001).The effect order of 4 differ-ent pretreament methods was Combined>Chemical>Physical>Biological.2)the chemical pretreatment methods were di-vided into 3 subgroups,acidic and other chemical pretreatment.The effect order of 3 subgroups was alkaline>acidic>other chemical pretreatment.The pretreatment remarkably promoted the biogas production of rice straw,the combined pretreat-ment method was the most effective method.In the future,combined pretreatment methods such as physical pretreatment and chemical pretreatment combined with microbial pretreatment will become the dominant pre treatment mode.关键词
