摘要

Abstract

Knee osteoarthritis(KOA)is a prevalent and complex degenerative joint disease characterized by pathological manifestations such as cartilage damage,synovial inflammation,and osteophyte formation,commonly affecting the elderly population.Ferroptosis,a newly discovered form of regulated cell death distinct from apoptosis,has emerged as a promising therapeutic target in recent years.The regulation of ferroptosis by Chinese medicine and compound formulas has become a research hotspot.This review systematically analyzes the mechanism of ferroptosis in KOA and the potential of Duhuo Jisheng Decoction in treating this condition by regulating ferroptosis-related pathways.The findings suggest that ferroptosis holds significant potential as a therapeutic target for KOA.Duhuo Jisheng Decoction,a classic formula widely used in traditional Chinese medicine for KOA treatment,impacts disease progression by modulating mechanisms such as iron metabolism disorders,oxidative stress,lipid peroxidation,and inflammatory responses involved in ferroptosis.
