Design of Multi-Column Surge Arresters Based on Internally Fused MOV Unit

Abstract
In the multi-column parallel arrester group,the structure of internal fuse in series can quickly isolate the fault column in case of local fault and prevent the system from locking.Taking the MRTB ar-rester group of DC converter station as an example,the author proposes a design method of fused multi-column shunt arrester group.First,select the resistor blade according to the arrester parameters and de-termine the structure of the arrester group.Then,design and manufacture the fuse according to the re-quirements of ampere second characteristics.Finally,build a high-power test platform in the laboratory to verify the reliability of the fuse through current withstand test and fuse isolation test.The test results show that the designed internal fuse series varistor unit can reliably withstand the operating impulse cur-rent approximate to the actual working condition,and the fuse fusing time is 1.2 ms when a single column fault occurs in the fusing test.关键词
