Abstract

This paper analyzes the spatial and temporal distribution of rainstorm,flood composition and characteristics,and flood diversion ratio of the"June 2022"flood in the northwest river and delta,and compares it with historical floods.The analysis shows that the flood has the characteristics of simultaneous occurrence of numbered floods,long duration,large magnitude,slow recession,and over alarm time.The No.3 flood in the Xijiang River and the No.1 flood in the Beijiang River lasted for 3 days,while the No.4 flood in the Xijiang River and the No.2 flood in the Beijiang River lasted for 7 days.The No.2 flood in the Beijiang River is the second largest flood after 1915.The maximum inflow of Feilaixia Reservoir on the main stream of Beijiang is 19900m3/s,which is more than once every 100 years.The alarm time at Sanshui Station on the main stream of Beijiang River is 101 hours,and the alarm time at Makou Station on the main stream of Xijiang River is 63 hours,with an average water return rate of 0.02m/h.The regulating effect of Sixianjiao stabilizes the flood diversion ratio of the Xijiang Makou and Beijiang rivers at 3∶1.The magnitude of the"June 2022"flood in Beijiang is greater than that of the"June 2008"and"June 2005"floods,while the flood magnitude of the Xijiang River is significantly smaller.During the flood process,the joint operation of water engineering effectively avoided the direct flooding encounter directly the Northwest River,and ensured the flood control safety of the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration.The study can provide some reference for future flood forecasting and scientific defense of the Xijiang and Beijiang River and the Pearl River Delta.
