Correction and validation of the steam condensation model in containmentFOAM

Abstract
The solver containmentFOAM,based on the open-source computational fluid dynamics program Open-FOAM,was tested to examine the heat transfer process of steam(containing air)condensation under accident con-ditions.The steam condensation heat transfer model was corrected,and COPAIN and COAST test benches were simulated to compare containmentFOAM and its condensation heat transfer model with the commercial CFD program Star-CCM+.Results show that the condensation heat transfer model in containmentFOAM is highly accurate when simulating the condensation process on flat surfaces.However,for condensation on round tube surfaces,a suction effect correction is required.ContainmentFOAM demonstrates lower grid sensitivity,higher simulation efficiency,and higher simulation accuracy than Star-CCM+.The heat transfer process of fluid containing non-condensing gases in containment can be accurately and efficiently simulated by modifying the condensation model in containment-FOAM.关键词
