Parametric reduced-order modeling of once-through steam generators

Abstract
The model order reduction technique is used in this study to develop a rapid calculation model for once-through steam generators(OTSGs)aiming at the immediacy and real-time requirements encountered by detailed simulation models in performing complex multi-simulation tasks,such as thermal-hydraulic design optimization and sensitivity analysis.High-dimensional full-order snapshots of the OTSG,obtained under various primary coolant in-let temperature conditions,are effectively reduced using the proper orthogonal decomposition method.This ap-proach yields a low-dimensional representation that accurately captures the thermal-hydraulic characteristics of the OTSG during load reduction transients.Furthermore,a framework for reduced-order modeling of the OTSG within a parameter domain is developed using double proper orthogonal decomposition and cubic spline interpolation.To val-idate the effectiveness of this framework,simulation results from the RELAP5 program are used to assess the ability of the parametric reduced-order model(ROM)to rapidly predict key thermal-hydraulic parameters of the OTSG un-der transient conditions.The evaluation results demonstrate that the maximum prediction error of the ROM is less than 1%,whereas the computational time required for the ROM is approximately 1%of that needed for RELAP5.Thus,this method has a substantial advantage in terms of computational accuracy and efficiency.关键词
