Abstract

In order to investigate the effects of adding different compound Chinese herbs to low-fish meal diet on the growth,intestinal digestive enzyme activity,disease resistance and aquaculture water quality of juvenile Scophthal-mus maximus,450 juvenile Scophthalmus maximus were divided into 5 groups with 3 replicates per group and 30 fish per replicate.One normal fishmeal group was used as a positive control group(containing 50%fishmeal,D1 group)and one low fishmeal group was used as a negative control group(30%fishmeal,D2 group).On the basis of the negative control group,three groups of different compound Chinese herbs were added with 2%respectively,which were named as D3,D4 and D5 groups.The breeding cycle is 8 weeks.The results showed that the survival rate of juvenile Scophthalmus maximus was not significantly affected by adding 3 groups of different compound Chi-nese herbs under the condition of low fish meal.The final body weight,weight gain rate and protein efficiency of juvenile fish in D5 group were significantly higher than those in negative control group,but there was no significant difference between D5 group and positive control group.The feed conversion ratio of D5 group was the lowest,which was significantly lower than that of negative control group,but had no significant difference from positive con-trol group.Serum total protein and globulin contents in D4 and D5 groups were significantly higher than those in positive and negative control group(P<0.05),serum lysozyme content,alkaline phosphatase activity,IgM and myeloperoxidase activities in D3~D5 groups were significantly higher than those in negative control group(P<0.05).Compared with the negative control group,the supplementation of Chinese herbal medicine(D3~D5 groups)significantly increased the intestinal trypsin activity of juvenile fish(P<0.05),and the amylase and lipase were significantly increased in D4 and D5 groups(P<0.05).After 6 h feeding,the contents of ammonia nitrogen,nitrite and phosphate in D2~D5 groups were significantly decreased,and the lowest values were found in D5 group(P<0.05).Through Vibrio anguillae challenge test for 48 h,the three groups of compound Chinese herbs can im-prove the survival rate of juvenile fish in different degrees,and the cumulative death rate of juvenile fish in D5 group is the lowest.In summary,under the condition of 30%low fish meal,adding 2%compound Chinese herbal medicine(atractylodes∶dryopteris crassirhizoma∶isatis tinctoria∶massa medicata fermentata=1∶1∶1∶1)can promote the growth performance of juvenile turbot,improve disease resistance,digestive enzyme activity,serum biochemical indexes,and reduce the contents of ammonia nitrogen,nitrite nitrogen and active phosphate in water.
