Abstract
Objective To investigate clinicopathological features and differential diagnosis of intracranial meningioma.Methods 137 cases of intracranial meningioma were examined by routine HE and immunohistochemical staining and followed up.At the same time,clinicopathological characteristics were analyzed based on the review of relevant literature.Results The morphology of these lesions was rich and varied,and most cases were WHO grade I.In some cases,a small number of atypic cells,flaky necrotic areas,and skull invasion could be seen,and there was a possibility of recurrence.The expression of tumor cells was positive in PCK,Vim,and EMA.Ki-67 increment index was 2%-35%with the increase of tumor grade.p53 was diffusely positive in a small number of WHO grade I and high-grade lesions.SOX2 was positively expressed in high-grade tumor cells.ER-α36 was strongly expressed in some cases.The 45 cases were followed up after the operation,and the results were relapse in 8 cases and death in 7 cases.Conclusion Meningiomas are the most common central nervous system tumors,and most meningiomas belong to benign tumors.However,some of these cases have the biological behavior of invasive potential and relapse tendency.The combined detection of immunohistochemical indexes p53,Ki-67,and SOX2 can help to screen out such cases and provide help for clinical treatment and prognosis.The positive expression of ER-α36 protein in some cases of meningioma may provide a new research direction for the pathogenesis of this disease.关键词
