Analysis of the correlation between work readiness and perceived social support among undergraduate nursing graduates

Abstract
Objective:To understand the level of work readiness and perceived social support among undergraduate nursing graduates,and to analyze the relationship between the two,in order to provide references for helping nursing graduates successfully transition into their roles and adapt more quickly to clinical nursing work.Methods:From March to April 2023,a survey was conducted among 238 nursing students who were about to graduate from a medical college in Shandong Province.The survey tools included a general information questionnaire,the Chinese version of the Work Readiness Scale for Graduate Nurses,and the Perceived Social Support Scale.Results:The total score of work readiness among undergraduate nursing graduates was(263.22±55.21),and the total score of perceived social support was(62.27±12.41).A positive correlation was found between the two(r=0.490,P＜0.05).After controlling for general information,perceived social support explained 18.2%of the variance in work readiness(P＜0.001).Conclusion:The work readiness and perceived social support levels of undergraduate nursing graduates were both above average.Perceived social support positively predicted job preparedness.Educators and administrators should strengthen collaboration,develop targeted measures based on influencing factors,and provide adequate support to undergraduate nursing graduates to improve their work readiness.关键词
