Abstract

To study the shear mechanical properties of bolted steel girders with trapezoidal corrugated webs,a total of six bolted steel girders with trapezoidal corrugated webs were designed and manufactured.The steel girder specimens were tested under shear loading.The test results show that all the girder specimens experienced shear buckling failure,and the critical shear buckling loads of the corrugated webs and the shear resistances of the tested girder specimens were obtained.Considering the material nonlinearity,geometric nonlinearity and geometric initial inperfections,the finite element model of bolted steel girders with trapezoidal corrugated webs was established,and compared with the shear test results of steel girders,verifying the accuracy of the established finite element model.Parametric studies were further conducted to evaluate the influences of the key factors including corrugated web height and thickness,corrugation width and bolt spacing on the shear capacity of steel girders.Based on the obtained test results,76 generated numerical results and the existing calculation methods for predicting the shear capacity of welded steel girders with trapezoidal corrugated webs,the modified formulas accounting for the shear contributions from the T-section flange,were proposed for calculating the shear capacity of bolted steel girders with trapezoidal corrugated webs.
