Augmented Reality-Assisted Study of Wayfinding Efficiency and Behavioural Characteristics in Hospitals for Patients with Eye Diseases

Abstract
Every year,nearly 400 million patients in China suffer from various types of eye diseases,of which there are about 6.7 million blind people,with the number of new blind people reaching 450,000 each year.In 2021,the number of consultations at China's ophthalmological hospitals reached 34,626,000 people.In the current social environment,visual impairment makes access to spatial information difficult and movement inconvenient.In eye hospitals,it is not clear what visual factors influence the process of eye disease patients'medical treatment.In this study,field research and experimental simulation were used to investigate the influence of visual environment elements on wayfinding behaviours in ophthalmology patients'medical processes based on augmented reality and behavioural observation methods,to establish the quantitative relationship between the visual environment elements of hospital buildings and the efficiency of wayfinding and psychological perceptions,and to propose design strategies and visual environment improvements for the reconstructed ophthalmology hospitals.关键词
