Arc Suppression Method of Large Generator Stator Single-phase Ground Fault Based on Flexible Regulation of Stator to Ground Voltage

Abstract
To solve the single-phase ground fault arc-suppression problem of generator stator windings,the paper proposes voltage-based arc-suppression method based on flexible stator ground voltage control.By controlling the current source which is in parallel with the neutral branch of generator to search for the optimal amplitude and phase of injected current,the voltage of fault point can be suppressed to zero.The strategy can destroy the reignition condition of fault arc and eliminate the fault current,thus realizing the arc-suppression of the stator ground fault at the root.The ground fault model of generator stator is built by PSCAD/EMTDC,to verify the arc-suppression method.Multiple stator ground fault scenarios are set up in the dynamic simulation laboratory to conduct voltage reduction and arc suppression tests.The results show that the method could effectively suppress the stator fault voltage.The method can reliably eliminate fault residual current and achieve grounding fault arc suppression under different operating and fault conditions.The technology is expected to eliminate generator stator winding grounding faults without disrupting power,thereby ensuring long-term safe and stable generator operation.关键词
