Abstract

To investigate the effects of Fuzi Lizhong oral liquid on growth performance and kidney function of chicks,200 1-day-old healthy chicks were randomly divided into 5 groups.The control group(CG group)was given normal tap water.Flufenicol group(FF group)was given tap water containing 0.15 g/L flufenicol.The high,medium and low dose groups(FZH group,FZM group and FZL group)were given tap water containing 5 g/L,2.5 g/L and 1.25 g/L of Fuzi Lizhong oral liquid,respectively.Starting from the first day of age,the drug was administered continuously for 5 days,and the blood was collected from the sub-wing vein on the sixth day of the test.The results showed that compared with CG group,ADFI and ADG in FZH group were significantly increased(P<0.05),and F/G in FZL,FZM and FZH groups were significantly de-creased.Compared with FF group,ADFI and ADG in FZL,FZM and FZH groups were significantly increased(P<0.05).Compared with CG group,the UA content in FZL,FZM and FZH groups was significantly decreased(P<0.05),and the BUN content in FZH group was significantly decreased(P<0.05).Compared with FF group,kidney index,UA content and BUN content in FZL,FZM and FZH groups were significantly decreased(P<0.05),and CRE content in FZH group was significantly decreased(P<0.05).Compared with CG group,the structure of liver and kidney in FF group was disorganized and the boundary was blurred,and the renal tissue structure in FZL,FZM and FZH groups had no significant change.Compared with CG group,SOD in FZH group was significantly increased(P<0.05),CAT in FZM and FZH groups was significantly increased(P<0.05).Compared with FF group,the antioxidant indexes in FZL,FZM and FZH groups were significantly de-creased(P<0.05).Compared with FF group,the mRNA expression levels of Nrf2 and NQO-1 in FZM and FZH groups were significantly increased(P<0.05),and the mRNA expression levels of HO-1 in FZL,FZM and FZH groups were significantly increased(P<0.05).Compared with CG group,the mRNA expression levels of CytC and Caspase-9 in FZH group were significantly decreased(P<0.05),the mRNA expression levels of Caspase-3 in FZM and FZH groups were significantly decreased(P<0.05),and the mRNA expression levels of Bcl2 in FZH group were significantly increased(P<0.05).Compared with FF group,the mRNA expression levels of CytC,Caspase-9,Caspase-3 and Bax in FZL,FZM and FZH groups were significantly decreased(P<0.05),while the mRNA expression levels of Bcl2 in FZL,FZM and FZH groups were significantly increased(P<0.05).Compared with CG group,the apoptosis rate of renal cells in FF group was significantly in-creased(P<0.05).The results showed that Fuzi Lizhong oral liquid could improve the growth perfor-mance of chicks,enhance the antioxidant function of kidneys,inhibit cell apoptosis and improve the health level of chicks.
