Abstract
In order to compare the effectiveness of live vaccines for porcine pseudorabies(PR)from different manufacturers,this study analyzed the gB,gC,and gD gene sequences of seven PR live vaccines(A-G)sold in China.These vaccines were administered to piglets aged 35-42 days,followed by challenge with the pseudorabies virus(PRV)GD-82 strain.Clinical symptoms were observed,the incidence of the disease was recorded,and neutralizing antibody levels against the PRV GD-82 strain in piglet sera were detected.Real-time quantitative PCR was used to measure gE gene expression in oral swabs and organ tissues,reflecting the amount of virus in the oral cavity and the relative viral load in tissues.A non-vaccinated control group was also included.The results showed that vaccines A,B,C,and E belonged to Gene Ⅰ,while vaccines D,F,and G belonged to Gene Ⅱ.After challenge,all piglets in the Control group became infected,with 4 out of 5 dying,while only one piglet in groups A,C,and E became infected,and all piglets in groups B,D,F,and G were completely protected.After the second vaccination,the neutralizing antibody titers were higher in groups D,E,F,and G.All piglets exhibited oral viral shedding,with significantly reduced shedding in the Immune groups compared with the Control group(P<0.01).The viral load in the tonsil,brain,and trigeminal nerve was highest in the Control group,and when comparing the Immune groups as a whole with the Control group,the viral load in the tonsil,brain,and trigeminal nerve was significantly reduced(P<0.01).The results suggest that based on clinical symptoms,neutralizing antibodies,and oral shedding after challenge,vaccines D,F,and G provide relatively better immunity,and these findings can offer guidance for selecting vaccines for porcine pseudorabies in farms.关键词
