摘要

Abstract

The CER1 gene plays an important role in the development of plant cuticular wax.In order to investigate the biological function of CER1 gene in wax gourd,the full-length of BhCER1 gene with a total length of 1866 bp was cloned using a homologous sequence cloning method.This gene encoded a protein of 621 amino acids with an isoelectric point of 8.29,and contained 55 potential phosphorylation sites.Protein structure analysis indicated the BhCERl protein primarily consists of random coil and α-helix.Promoter sequence analysis showed that the promoter of BhCER1 contained regulatory elements associated responses to various abiotic stresses,such as drought,low temperature,and salt stress.Phylogenetic analysis showed that BhCER1 in wax gourd was closely related to CmCER1 in melon and CsCER1 in cucumber,both belonged to the Cucurbitaceae family.The results of qRT-PCR demonstrated that BhCER1 was most highly expressed in the fruit peel,followed by the fruit flesh,female flower,male flower,leaf,and stem,with negligible expression in the root.The above studies suggest that BhCER1 may play an important role in the fruit wax synthesis process of wax gourd.However,further systematic research is need to elucidate its specific biological functions.
