Flow pulsation suppression method of triplex reciprocating pump by non-circular gear drive

Abstract
In order to address the performance defect of large flow pulsation,a method for pulsation suppression method based on non-circular gear driving was proposed.Firstly,according to the instantaneous flow and average flow of the three-cylinder reciprocating pump,the theoretical transmission ratio of non-circular gear for pulsation suppression was derived.Secondly,the design method of closed non-circular gear adapted to the characteristics of periodical flow pulsation of three-cylinder reciprocating pump was proposed based on Fourier series.The influence of trigonometric function terms on the flow characteristics and the shape of non-circular gear was clarified.Finally,considering the flow pulsation caused by flow backflow of the check valve,a fluid simulation model of three-cylinder reciprocating pump was established to compare the effect of non-circular gear and accumulator on the pulsation of the pump.The motion test of the mechanical end of the pump driven by non-circular gear was completed.The results show that the flow pulsation rate of the three-cylinder reciprocating pump decreases from 30.39%to 13.12%through the external non-circular gear drive.Increasing the number of trigonometric terms of non-circular gear ratio can further reduce the pulsation rate,while it is easy to cause root cutting problems of non-circular gears.The flow pulsation caused by the delayed movement of the valve spool can not be suppressed by the noncircular gears,but its suppressing effect is better than that of the accumulator.When the non-circular gear is used together with the accumulator,the flow pulsation rate of the pump can decrease to 7.38%to achieve a more uniform instantaneous flow rate.关键词
