Application of rapid on-site cytological evaluation in the diagnosis of breast masses

Abstract
Objective:Breast masses are common clinical symptoms in women.This study explores the diagnostic and therapeutic role of rapid on-site cytological evaluation(ROSE)in breast masses. Methods:A total of 597 cases of breast masses from Baoji Central Hospital were collected.All preoperative imaging classifications by thyroid imaging reporting and data system(TI-RADS)were level 4 or above.ROSE was performed after aspiration,and its diagnostic sensitivity,specificity,false-positive rate,and false-negative rate were compared with the results of tissue paraffin section pathology. Results:Among the 597 breast mass cases,6 were male and 591 were female.Compared to tissue paraffin sections,the sensitivity of rapid cytology smears was 93.72%,specificity was 99.03%,false-positive rate was 0.97%,and false-negative rate was 6.27%. Conclusion:ROSE provides the same diagnostic significance as paraffin section pathology and can greatly improve the day surgery rate in breast surgery.It is suitable for wider application.关键词
