Abstract

In order to study the effects of plant secondary substances on the growth and de-velopment of coleopterma insects,promoting the sustainable management of forest pests and improving the ecological environment,chlorogenic acid with different concentrations was se-lected to observe its effects on the growth and development of Protaetia brevitarsis,and the effects on the activities of detoxification enzymes and protective enzymes in its body were an-alyzed.The results showed that:(1)Within the range of tested concentration,the weight of P.brevitarsis decreased slowly with the increase of time.And the weight of chlorogenic acid treatment group with 1%,3%and 6%concentrations decreased by 25.83%,27.38%and 26.13%respectively,compared with the control group,which showed significant differences(P<0.05).(2)The developmental duration of larvae in 0.5%,1%,3%and 6%treat-ments was significantly different from that in the control group(P<0.05),which was pro-longed by 7.03,9.40,15.37 and 17.57 days,respectively.The pupa duration in 1%,3%and 6%treatments was significantly different from that in the control group(P<0.05),which was prolonged by 14.30,19.46,and 23.11 days,respectively.(3)The mortality rate of larvae fed with 6%chlorogenic acid was the highest,which was 31.67%;The pupation rate and emergence rate were the lowest,which were 76.43%and 50.72%;The ratio of male to female was 0.71∶1,which was significantly different from the control group(P<0.05).(4)The body length and width of male and female adults in 6%treatment group were the smallest,which were 1.63 cm and 1.73 cm respectively,and the body width was 1.00 cm,which was significantly different from the control group(P<0.05).(5)The activities of AChE,GST,POD and CAT in the treatment group fed with 0.5%chlorogenic acid were significantly different from those in the control group(P<0.05).The activities of AChE and GSTs decreased significantly,reaching 21.85 nmol/(min·g)and 826.33 nmol/(min·g),respectively.While the activities of POD and CAT increased significantly,reaching 4.67△OD470/(min·g)and 67.80 μmol/(min·g),respectively.In conclusion,chlorogenic acid could inhibit the growth and development of P.brevitarsis by inhibiting the activities of AChE and GST detoxification enzymes or destroying the original balance of POD and CAT in larvae.
