Temporal and spatial patterns of soil erosion and soil conservation functions in the upper Baiyangdian Daqing River basin based on the In VEST model

Abstract

In order to evaluate the spatial-temporal variation of soil conservation function and its influencing factors in the Daqing River Basin in the upper reaches of Baiyangdian,four satellite images from 2003 to 2018,temperature and precipitation data from 64 stations,ele-vation data and soil data in Hebei were used for analysis.Temporal and spatial changes of soil erosion and soil conservation function in Daqing River Basin in 2003,2008,2013 and 2018 were quantitatively analyzed using InVEST mode,and the influencing factors of soil conservation function were analyzed based on geographic detector.The aim is to provide sci-entific reference for soil and water conservation construction and ecological environment pro-tection in Daqing River basin.The results showed as follows:(1)Soil erosion from 2003 to 2018 was 5.251 million tons,7.9479 million tons,11.0745 million tons and 11.6551 million tons,respectively,showing an increasing trend.The increase of soil erosion in each period was 2.9669 million tons,3.126 6 million tons and 0.580 6 million tons,respectively,and the increase rate went up first before going down.(2)Soil conservation from 2003 to 2018 was 3.26× 108 tons,2.14 × 108 tons,2.27 × 108 tons,and 2.59 × 108 tons,respectively,showing a trend of decrease first before increase..(3)The soil conservation function was better in northwest area and high altitude region,while the southeast area and low altitude region exhibited worse soil conservation function.The decreasing order of soil conservation function of different types of land was:forest land>grassland>cultivated land>con-struction land>water body>unused land and other.(4)The analysis results of the geo-graphical detector showed that the single factor of soil conservation function change in the basin was mainly affected by land use,and the double factor was mainly affected by the in-teraction between elevation and precipitation.It is suggested that measures should be taken to control the influence of human activities on land-use structure,increase the vegetation coverage,and improve the soil conservation function of watershed ecosystem.
