Kaplan approach combined with elbow dislocation internal fixation for the treatment of hu-meral capitulum-trochlear fractures

Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Kaplan approach combined with elbow dislocation internal fixation for the treatment of humeral capitulum-trochlear fracture.Methods Seven patients with humeral capitulum-trochlear fractures were treated with Kaplan approach combined with elbow dislocation internal fixation.Fracture re-duction,fracture healing and elbow range of motion were recorded.The effect was evaluated by Mayo elbow function score.Results All patients were followed up for 6～24 months.All fractures were anatomically reduced.All frac-tures healed within3～4 months.At the last follow-up,the elbow joint was flexed90°～130°(111.43°±14.57°)and straightened-30°～0°(-10.71°±10.15°).Using the Mayo score to evaluate elbow joint function:4 cases were excellent,3 cases were good.Conclusions For the treatment of humeral capitulum-trochlear fractures,the Kaplan ap-proach combined with elbow dislocation internal fixation can effectively expose the distal articular surface of the hume-rus,achieve precise reduction of the fracture,and facilitate the recovery of elbow joint function.关键词
