Ultrastructure of the Antennal Sensilla of Spathius anoplophorae(Hymenoptera:Braconidae),A New Larval Parasitoid of Asian Longhorned Beetle

Abstract
[Objective]Spathius anoplophorae(Hymenoptera:Braconidae)is an important ectoparasitic wasp that parasitizes the Asian longhorned beetle during its early larval stage.It exhibits excellent parasit-ic control effects on the beetle,but the mechanisms of olfactory signal recognition in this parasitoid remain unclear.This study aims to examine the variety and morphology of the antennal sensilla of S.anoplophor-ae.[Method]Scanning electron microscopy was used to observe the ultrastructure of the antennae and sensilla in both male and female adult parasitoids.The distribution,size,and number of sensilla on the an-tennae of females and males were analyzed.[Result]The antennae of S.anoplophorae are filiform,with one scape,one pedicel,and 33 flagellomeres in females,and one scape,one pedicel,and 31 flagel-lomeres in males.Eight types of sensilla were present in the antennae of S.anoplophorae,including Böhm bristles,chaetica sensilla,trichoid sensilla,placodea sensilla,coeloconic sensilla,styloconica sensilla,sensilla squamiformia,and smell pore.[Conclusion]The ultrastructural analysis revealed that the distribu-tion of sensilla on the antennae of S.anoplophorae was generally similar between females and males.However,significant differences were observed in the overall length and width of the antennae,as well as in the size,type,and number of sensilla on different segments.These findings provide a solid foundation for future studies on the chemical communication and olfactory behaviors of S.anoplophorae.关键词
