摘要
Abstract
Discussions about the achievements of Zhao Bian,a famous statesman of the Northern Song Dynasty,have fo-cused on the"Iron-Faced Censor."While this undoubtedly represents a particularly brilliant chapter of his career,the promi-nence of this role has,to some extent,overshadowed other aspects of his contributions,leading to an unbalanced assessment.In fact,Zhao Bian's tenure as a censor and remonstrance official was relatively short,and most of his career was spent serving as a local administrator.It was his accomplishments as a local official that primarily established his reputation as a distinguished statesman.Therefore,it is necessary to shift the focus to Zhao Bian's practices of self-cultivation,family governance,and benev-olent administration.By examining Zhao Bian as a representative figure shaped within the political framework of the scholar-offi-cial class and through specific examples of his actions,this study aims to illuminate the mainstream spirit of Song Dynasty schol-ar-officials.关键词
