The Stoic View of Art and Its Foundations in Natural Aesthetics
摘要
Abstract
The Stoic school regards nature as a unified,vibrant entity brimming with vitality and life.It holds that reason(logos),as an extended and pervasive entity,permeates every corner of the universe.Nature is envisioned as a masterful artist,with the entire cosmos and all things within it serving as the masterpieces of this great artist,embodying the perfection of reason.Humanity is endowed with the ability to perceive the myriad forms of the universe with an aesthetic attitude and entrusted with the responsibility of witnessing and celebrating the beauty of nature.Human artistic creation is not merely a process of imitation but also encompasses a creative dimension inspired by archetypal models within the human mind.Both natural creation and human artistic endeavors stem from the same unified cosmic reason.The Stoic view of nature contains the germ of the idea of"universal beauty in nature,"while its perspective on art reflects the unity of humanism and naturalism,emphasizing the profound harmony between humanity and the natural world.关键词
