Abstract

The carbon cycle of Zoige wetland plays an important role in the global carbon cycle,but the changes of water level and grazing seriously affect the soil organic carbon in Zoige swamp wetland.Through field sampling analysis on three different flooding and gazing types in Zoige area,changes of soil organic carbon(SOC)under different degradation conditions of marsh wetlands in Zoige area were evaluated.The results showed that compared with the natural marsh wetlands without gazing and with long-term flooding,the organic carbon content of soil(0~10 cm)in the seasonal flooded wet meadow where the long-term grazing prohibition is implemented increased from 168.9±13.1 g/kg to 226.8±6.0 g/kg.Soil organic carbon density(0~50 cm)increased from 31.3±2.4 kg/m2 to 37.9±1.5 kg/m2.In marsh wetlands with long-term flooding,a slight drop in water level will promote the accumulation of soil organic carbon.However,with the further decline of water level,soil organic carbon content will decrease significantly.Under the condition of long-term grazing prohibition,the organic carbon content of soil(0~10 cm)in dry meadow was reduced by 64%compared with that in wet meadow with long-term grazing prohibition,and soil organic carbon density(0~50 cm)decreased by 32%.Grazing will further increase the loss of soil organic carbon.
