Abstract

Taihu Lake storage-discharge relationship refers to the relationship between the water inflow and outflow of Taihu Lake and the amount of water stored in the lake,which determines the basic characteristics of Taihu Lake's hydrology and water conditions.In this paper,a storage-discharge relationship index is created and used to study the storage-discharge relationship of Taihu Lake in combination with the number of lake water renewal.Based on the hydrological data of Taihu Lake from 2006 to 2022,the Mann-Kendall test is used to analyze the characteristics of rainfall,water level,water inflow and outflow,and storage-discharge relationship in the Taihu Lake basin,and the factors that lead to the change of the storage-discharge relationship are discussed.The study shows that,the relevant hydrological elements all show a significant increasing trend;the storage-discharge relationship of Taihu Lake is significantly improved,and a sudden change occurs near 2014;after 2014,the annual average storage-discharge relationship index increased by 0.05 and the annual average number of lake water renewal increased by 0.36 compared with previous period;the rainfall,the amount of water diverted from the gates along surrounding rivers(Jiangsu sections)are the factors leading to the changes in the storage-discharge relationship of Taihu Lake.
