Effects of yeast cell wall on growth performance,immunity,antioxidant capacity,and intestinal microbiota of yellow-feathered broilers

Abstract
The study aimed to investigate the effects of yeast cell wall(YCW)on the growth performance,immunity,antioxidant capacity,and intestinal microbiota of yellow-feathered broilers.A total of 1 680 one-day-old yellow-feathered broilers were randomly divided into four groups,with each group consisting of six replicates,and each replicate containing 70 yellow-feathered broilers.The control group(group A)was fed a basal diet,while groups B,C,and D were fed the basal diet supplemented with 0.05%,0.10%,and 0.15%YCW,respectively.The test period was 63 days.The results showed that compared with the control group,the average daily feed intake(ADFI)of yellow-feathered broilers in group C was significantly increased(P<0.05)during the period of 1~21 days.Compared with the control group,the thymus index of yellow-feathered broilers in group D was significantly improved(P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC)in the serum of yellow-feathered broilers in groups C and D were significantly increased(P<0.05),and the serum superoxide dismutase(T-SOD)activity in group D was significantly increased(P<0.05).In group B,the content of CD3+,CD4+,and the ratio of CD4+/CD8+were significantly increased(P<0.05).Compared to the control group,the mRNA expression levels of Toll-like receptor 2(TLR-2),mucin 2(MUC2),tight junction protein 1(ZO-1),and Occludin in the ileum of yellow-feathered broilers in group C were significantly increased(P<0.05).Compared to the control group,the number of Escherichia coli and Salmonella in the ileal digesta of yellow-feathered broilers in group D were significantly decreased(P<0.05),and the total bacterial count in the ileal mucosa of yellow-feathered broilers in all groups was significantly increased(P<0.05),but the number of Salmonella in the ileal mucosa of yellow-feathered broilers in group C was significantly decreased(P<0.05).The study indicates that the addition of YCW in the diet improves the growth performance of yellow-feathered broilers by promoting the development of immune organs,affecting the balance of peripheral blood T lymphocyte subsets,enhancing the expression of genes related to intestinal immune surveillance and barrier,regulating the structure of the intestinal microbiota.The appropriate dosage of YCW is 0.10%.关键词
