Impact of Digital Economy Development on Enterprise Resource Allocation—An Empirical Study Based on Data From Listed Manufacturing Companies

Abstract
With the rapid development of the digital economy,whether the digital economy can optimize enterprise resource allocation has been widely concerned by the academic community.Based on the theoretical framework proposed by Hsieh and Kle-now,this paper constructs distortion coefficients for enterprise capital and output as proxy variables for enterprise resource misal-location.On this basis,the paper uses the comprehensive development index of the digital economy of 30 provinces in China from 2013 to 2020 and the data of A-share manufacturing listed companies to construct a panel data model,and explore the impact of the digital economy on enterprise resource allocation and its underlying mechanisms.The research findings reveal that digital economy significantly reduces the distortion level of capital and output,thereby optimizing enterprise resource allocation,and that the effect is primarily achieved by breaking down market segmentation and reducing financial frictions.Additionally,the results of heterogeneity analysis indicate that digital economy has a greater improvement effect on capital and output distortion in the eastern regions and non-state-owned enterprises.关键词
