Discussion on the Characteristics of Epidemic Disease Treatment in Liao Mingjie's Seventeen Discourses on the Essentials of Seasonal Diseases

Abstract
Seventeen Discourses on the Essentials of Seasonal Diseases is a work by Liao Mingjie that systematical-ly discusses the treatment of epidemic diseases and contains rich characteristics of such treatments.Mr.Liao be-lieves that epidemic diseases are caused by foul toxic bacteria,thus emphasizing the need for active hygiene mea-sures to disinfect and eliminate filth,preventing the occurrence of epidemics.If an epidemic has already occurred,despite its urgency and complex symptoms,Liao Mingjie flexibly selects the best methods from internal treatments,external treatments,western medicine,and traditional Chinese medicine to treat the disease.Epidemic pathogens of-ten invade the lungs and stomach through the mouth and nose,sometimes progressing severely to affect the brain;Mr.Liao advocates detoxification and promoting qi flow.His approach to diagnosing and treating epidemic diseas-es focuses more on heat epidemics and blood-related syndromes of epidemic diseases,advocating the use of vari-ous heat-clearing formulas and medicines to resolve heat toxins and blood toxins.关键词
