Value of IL-6,PCT,CRP and BNP Levels in Evaluating Bloodstream Infection in Patients with Severe Infection

Abstract
Objective:To analyze the levels of interleukin-6(IL-6),procalcitonin(PCT),C reactive protein(CRP)and brain natriuretic peptide(BNP)in the evaluation of bloodstream infection in patients with severe infection.Method:The clinical data of 150 patients with severe infection admitted to the First People's Hospital of Jingdezhen from January 2020 to December 2023 were retrospectively analyzed.All patients underwent blood culture and were divided into positive group and negative group according to the blood culture results,with 75 cases in each group.The levels of serum IL-6,PCT,CRP and BNP were compared between the two groups,and the value of serum IL-6,PCT,CRP and BNP levels alone and in combination in the evaluation of bloodstream infection in patients with severe infection were evaluated by receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve.Result:The levels of serum IL-6,PCT,CRP and BNP in the positive group were significantly higher than those in the negative group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The ROC curve showed that the area under the curve(AUC)of serum IL-6,PCT,CRP and BNP levels for evaluating bloodstream infection in patients with severe infection were 0.734,0.797,0.694 and 0.698,respectively,the sensitivities were 62.67%,65.33%,62.67%and 85.33%,respectively,and the specificities were 80.00%,85.33%,74.67%and 49.33%,respectively,the AUC,sensitivity,and specificity of the combined assessment of serum IL-6,PCT,CRP and BNP levels for bloodstream infection in patients with severe infection were 0.914,88.00%and 80.00%,respectively.Conclusion:The combination of serum IL-6,PCT,CRP and BNP levels has a high value in the evaluation of bloodstream infection in patients with severe infection.关键词
