Abstract

In the Haihe River Basin,the"23·7"torrential rain event caused a flood in Yongding River from the section of Sanjiadian Regulation Pool to the Lugouqiao Flood Diversion Hub with a recurrence in-terval exceeding 50 years.To enhance flood control and emergency response capabilities,a two-dimen-sional hydrodynamic model(HEC-RAS)was employed to simulate and analyze the flood evolution and in-undation patterns under different flood frequencies in the northern part of Mayu Village,Lusan Section of the Yongding River.The results indicated that the left bank of the Sanjiadian regulating pool did not over-flow during or less a 200-year flood event at the Sanjiadian barrage.Moreover,the flood was largely con-fined to the west area of the Fengsha Railway for flood events with recurrence intervals greater than 200 years.Based on these findings,the optimal timing for flood control interventions at four strategic locations of north Mayu along the Yongding River was proposed.The study provides a valuable decision-making framework for flood control and emergency response operations.
