"Activating Utilization"Versus"Living Transmission":Discussion on the Living Conservation of Traditional Villages in China
摘要
Abstract
The conservation of traditional villages in China has fully entered the stage of qualitative improvement,which requires further cautious thinking on the heritage positioning and source of value of such villages so as to cope with the problems existing in the current conservation practices.This paper returns to the original intention of conservation,explores the sequence of heritage values and the nature of heritage of traditional villages through literature comparison,and discusses the theoretical reasons for the phenomenological conservation problems.It is pointed out that the cultural living process expressed by traditional villages is the nature of this type of heritage.The material and intangible heritage elements of the villages are the instantaneous manifestations of this diachronic heritage nature,and their conservation is a means rather than the goal.The key point for the conservation of the traditional villages should be to maintain the overall living status of the cultural process,and the ultimate pursuit for the living conservation of traditional villages should be the promotion and continuation of the inherited cultural expression,rather than the activation and utilization of some heritage elements.关键词
