Isotopic Geochemical Characteristics and Geological Significance of Chlorine,Hydrogen, and Oxygen in Salt Springs of the Simao Basin
摘要
Abstract
The Simao Basin in Yunnan,an important potassium-rich prospective basin in China, has developed a large number of salt springs.Chlorine isotopes, combined with other geochemical parameters of salt springs, can be used to study the sources, evolution, and genesis of various fluids and mineral deposits. This paper analyzes the elemental geochemistry and isotopic characteristics(δ37Cl,δD,δ18O)of eight salt spring samples from the Simao Basin in Yunnan Province.By combining these findings with previous data and research results,it explores the supply sources, solute origins, and evolution processes of salt springs in the basin. The δ2H and δ18O characteristics of the salt springs indicate that the elevation of their supply is approximately 2 000 m with the water primarily coming from atmospheric precipitation in the surrounding Ailao-Wuliang Mountains. The elemental geochemistry, along with the nNa/nCl,nMg/nCl,and Br×103/Cl ratios of the salt springs in the Simao Basin, suggests that the aqueous chemistry type of the saline springs is Na-Cl and that they belong to lixiviation water, with the solutes primarily originating from rock salt dissolution. The chlorine isotope values of the salt springs reveal that the dissolved rock salt is of marine origin, and the chlorine source is singular.During the formation of the salt springs in the Anbanjing area of the basin, transformed rock salt was dissolved, making it a potential area for potassium exploration.关键词
