摘要

Abstract

The gut microbiota of young calves plays a crucial role in their growth and development as well as health status.Gut microbes are not only involved in the digestion and absorption of nutrients,but also signifi-cantly impact the development of the immune system,the maintenance of metabolic functions,and the resist-ance to pathogenic microorganisms.Therefore,understanding the colonization process of the gut microbiota in young calves and its influencing factors is essential for promoting their healthy growth.In recent years,fecal microbiota transplantation(FMT)has emerged as a novel method for regulating gut microecology.FMT can help restore a normal microbial community by transplanting feces from healthy individuals into calves with mi-crobial imbalances,thereby improving gut health,promoting growth,and enhancing immune function.Cur-rently,FMT has achieved some success in human medicine,particularly in treating antibiotic-associated diar-rhea.Preliminary studies involving young calves indicate that FMT has potential in enhancing health levels.This article reviewed the colonization of gut microbiota in young calves,the influencing factors,and the cur-rent status and research progress of FMT technique in young calves.[Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition,2025,37(2):723-734]
