Influence of Vitamin A on Intramuscular Fat Deposition in Livestock and Poultry and Its Regulatory Mechanisms

Abstract
The content of intramuscular fat in livestock and poultry is crucial for enhancing meat quality,as it directly affects the tenderness,water-holding capacity,and unique flavor of the meat.Vitamin A,a compound with retinol bioactivity,plays a significant role in the formation of intramuscular fat in these animals.Research indicates that the addition of vitamin A at different growth stages of livestock and poultry has varying effects on the deposition of intramuscular fat.This paper aims to review the influence of vitamin A on the deposition of in-tramuscular fat in livestock and poultry,as well as its regulatory mechanisms,in order to provide a reference for further research on the nutritional regulation of meat quality and the exploration of the regulatory mecha-nisms underlying intramuscular fat deposition in animals.[Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition,2025,37(2):826-836]关键词
