Effects of Coated Sodium Butyrate on Growth Performance,Meat Quality,Serum Biochemical Indices and Cecal Microbial Structure of Broilers

Abstract
This experiment was conducted to study the effects of coated sodium butyrate on growth perform-ance,meat quality,serum biochemical indices and cecal microbial structure of broilers.A total of 216 one-day-old Ross 308 commercial broilers were randomly divided into 3 groups with 6 replicates per group and 18 broil-ers per replicate.The control group was fed a basal diet,and the sodium butyrate group was fed the basal diet supplemented with 500 mg/kg coated sodium butyrate.The experiment lasted for 42 days.The results showed as follows:1)compared with the control group,dietary 500 mg/kg coated sodium butyrate significantly de-creased the feed to gain ratio of broilers during 22 to 42 days of age and 1 to 42 days of age(P<0.05),and increased the average daily gain during 22 to 42 days of age and 1 to 42 days of age and European profit index during 1 to 42 days of age(P<0.05).2)Compared with the control group,dietary 500 mg/kg coated sodium butyrate significantly decreased the drip loss and shear force in breast muscle of broilers at 42 days of age(P<0.05).3)Compared with the control group,dietary 500 mg/kg coated sodium butyrate significantly increased the contents of triglyceride,total cholesterol and total protein in serum of broilers at 42 days of age(P<0.05).4)Compared with the control group,dietary 500 mg/kg coated sodium butyrate significantly increased the Chaol index,Shannon index and Pielou_e index of cecal microbiota α diversity of broilers at 42 days of age(P<0.05),and significantly increased the relative abundance of Parabacteroides in cecum of broilers at 42 days of age(P<0.05).In conclusion,the supplementation of coated sodium butyrate in diet can improve the growth performance and meat quality,increase the blood lipid content,promote the protein anabolism,and in-crease the relative abundance of Parabacteroides in cecum of broilers.[Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition,2025,37(2):950-960]关键词
