Effects of Tail Vegetable-Corncob Type Fermented Total Mixed Ration on Growth Performance,Nutrient Apparent Digestibility and Serum Biochemical,Antioxidant and Immune Indexes of Beef Cattle

Abstract
This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of tail vegetable-corncob type fermented to-tal mixed ration(FTMR)on growth performance,nutrient apparent digestibility and serum biochemical,an-tioxidant and immune indexes of beef cattle.Twelve healthy about 4-month-old Xinjiang brown cattle bulls with similar body weight[(125.45±20.68)kg]were selected,and randomly divided into 2 groups with 6 repli-cates in each group and 1 cattle in each replicate.The control group was fed a tail vegetable-corncob type unfer-mented total mixed ration(TMR),and the experimental group was fed a tail vegetable-corncob type fermented total mixed ration.The pre-experimental period lasted for 7 days,and the experimental period lasted for 90 days.The results showed as follows:1)there were no significant differences in average daily gain,dry matter intake,feed to gain ratio and body size indexes between experimental group and control group(P>0.05).2)The dry matter apparent digestibility of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05),and the acid detergent fiber was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.01).3)The serum total protein content of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05),and the serum glutamic-pyruvic transaminase activity was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).4)The serum malondialdehyde content of the experimental group was sig-nificantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.01),and the serum superoxide dismutase activity and total antioxidant capacity were significantly higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).5)The serum immu-noglobulin A content of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).In conclusion,feeding the tail vegetable-corncob type fermented total mixed ration can maintain the growth performance of beef cattle,increase the apparent digestibility of dry matter and acid detergent fiber of beef cattle,and improve the antioxidant capacity and immune function of beef cattle.[Chinese Journal of Ani-mal Nutrition,2025,37(2):1071-1081]关键词
