Social-familial Dual Intergenerational Redistribution in the Context of High-quality Population Development

Abstract
The most critical path to achieve high-quality population development is to enhance human capital by increasing investments in young people,thereby boosting productivity to sustain economic growth.This serves as a prerequisite for achieving common prosperity.However,amidst China's in-creasingly prominent societal characteristics of aging and declining birth rates,rapid aging signifies a sharp increase in social expenditures on the elderly,leading to competition for the redistribution of public resources between the young and the old.Under western individualism,such competition can result in intergenerational conflicts or even divisions.Nevertheless,China has not experienced the same level of social intergenerational conflicts as western coun-tries.The primary reason is that traditional family-based elderly care still holds a fundamental position,where intergenerational redistribution within families alleviates the contradictions in social intergenerational redistribution,and complements each other.The"social-familial dual intergenerational redistribution"model serves as the social foundation supporting the formation of a Chinese style modern welfare system in the context of high-quality population development.关键词
