Exploring Paths for Enhancing Urban and Rural Green Development through Active Aging:International Comparisons and Experience Reference

Abstract
Population aging and climate change are two major challenges faced by all of humanity.Against the backdrop of accelerating population ag-ing,how to tap into the climate adaptation potential of the growing elderly population and assist in the green transformation and development is a ques-tion that deserves consideration and attention.Active aging theory,NBS theory,and community sustainable development theory elucidate the importance and possibility of enhancing the climate adaptation capabilities of the elderly.By comparing practice cases from China,Europe,Asia,and the United States,the feasibility of the elderly aiding in the green transition is explored.It can be concluded that the participation of the elderly in green development is an active aging model that aligns with national strategies,societal needs,and the interests of the elderly.This model can achieve harmonious coexis-tence between human and nature,human and society,and human themselves.Drawing on domestic and international practical experiences,in the context of China's accelerating aging,implementing pathways such as green low-carbon education and publicity targeted at the elderly,community participation and collaboration,policy support,and inter-departmental cooperation will significantly enhance the seniors climate adaptation and green transformation ca-pabilities.This approach provides a theoretical framework and practical guide for the elderly to contribute to urban and rural green development,highlight-ing the institutional advantages in breaking through agricultural development bottlenecks,facilitating urban-rural economic cycles,tapping into collective resource potential,enhancing agricultural development potential,serving collective members,managing collective assets,accumulating ecological capital,and developing public welfare undertakings.It fully leverages the primary role of the broad masses of farmers and gathers various resources and strengths from society to achieve coordinated,efficient,and synergistic rural revitalization,modernization of agriculture and rural areas,and the construction of a strong agricultural nation,thereby better promoting the construction of Chinese-style modernization with high-quality agricultural development.关键词
