Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the potential effect and safety of Yupingfeng granules in the prevention and treatment of recurrent wheezing in infants.Methods:Retrospective analysis was performed on clinical data of 96 infants with recurrent wheezing admitted into our hospital from Oct.2018 and Oct.2020.The children were divided into two groups according to different treatment method:the control group(48 cases)received conventional inhaled glucocorticoids(ICS),while the study group(48 cases)was given oral Yupingfeng granules.Baseline data,frequency of wheezing episodes before and after treatment,treatment duration,intravenous fluid requirements,and pulmonary function indicators were compared between two groups.Results:The study group showed similar efficacy to the control group in reducing the number of wheezing episodes,shortening the treatment duration,and reducing the intravenous fluid requirements in infants.Additionally,there were no significant differences in pulmonary function indicators including tidal volume(VT/kg),ratio of time to peak tidal expiratory flow to total expiratory time(TPTEF/TE%),ratio of peak expiratory flow to minute ventilation(VPEF/VE%),and ratio of inspiratory to expiratory time(Ti/Te)between two groups after treatment(P>0.05).Conclusion:As a non-ICS therapy,Yupingfeng granules provide a new treatment option for prevention and treatment of recurrent wheezing in infants.The efficacy is comparable to ICS inhalation therapy and may serve as an alternative for families unwilling or unable to use ICS therapy.关键词
