Abstract

The soil acid phosphatase activity is an important indicator of soil phosphorus availability.In order to study the effect of different tree species on the soil acid phosphatase activity and provide theoretical basis for artificial afforestation in subtropical area,twelve common tree species in subtropical regions were selected to measure the six functional traits of each tree species,including both above-ground and below-ground traits,as well as the soil acid phosphatase activity in each sample plot.And the relationship between the functional traits of 12 plantations and soil phosphatase activity was also evaluated.The results showed that:the specific leaf area of the 12 plantation forest ranged from 5.6 to 9.4 m2·kg-1.The leaf dry matter content ranged from 287.73-486.39 mg·g-1.The nitrogen content in leaves ranged from 1.1%to 2.01%.The phosphorus content in leaves ranged from 0.04%to 0.13%.The root diameter ranged from 0.41 mm to 0.73 mm.The specific root length ranged from 19.89 mm to 57.14 mm.The soil acid phosphatase activity in each quadrat ranged from 42.3 to 212.0 μmol·g-1·h-1,with the highest in Myrica cerifera(212.0±46.9)μmol·g-1·h-1 and the lowest in Lithocarpus glaber(42.3±8.4)μmol·g-1·h-1.The Pearson correlation analysis between the functional traits of 12 tree species and soil acid phosphatase activity showed that the specific leaf area and root diameter of different tree species were positively correlated with the soil acid phosphatase activity,while the leaf dry matter content and specific root length were negatively correlated with the soil acid phosphatase activity.The results of the study showed that the functional traits of different tree species could influence the soil acid phosphatase activity through different nutrient acquisition strategies of plants.
