Comprehensive Evaluations of Fourteen Gerbera jamesonii Varieties in Nanning

Abstract
In order to provide references for selection of Gerbera jamesonii fresh cut flower varieties in Nanning,and promote developments of fresh cut flower industries in Nanning and Guangxi,taking fourteen G.jamesonii varieties as study objects,differences of inflorescences,pedicels,flower colours and vase lives among varieties were analyzed,and membership function method was used to comprehensively evaluate varieties.Results showed that'Pink Butterfly''Linglong'and'Yunnan Red'had larger inflorescence diameters,'Honey''Shiso''Lin-glong''Da Xue Tangerine'and'Emma'had larger pedicel diameters,and'Shiso'had the longest pedicel.Four-teen varieties could be broadly classified into 6 colours,with'Linglong'and'Honey'having brighter coloured co-rollas.'Mini Red'had the longest vase life and'Gorgeous'had the shortest vase life.There were significant nega-tive correlation between inflorescence diameter and vase life,significant positive correlation between pedicel di-ameter and pedicel length,extremely significant negative correlations between corolla(core)L*values and co-rolla(core)a*values,and extremely significant negative correlation between core a*value and core b*value.'Shiso'had the highest membership value and the best comprehensive evaluation.There were certain differenc-es in botanical traits and vase lives among different G.jamesonii varieties.Six varieties with excellent compre-hensive evaluations,including pink'Honey'and'Linglong',purple'Shiso',orange'Da Xue Tangerine',and red'Glory'and'Yunnan Red',could be popularized for planting.关键词
