Performance of conventional bubble ozonation and microbubble ozonation on norfloxacin removal from wastewater

Abstract
Conventional bubble oxidation technology(CB/O3)has a poor performance on removing antibiotic from wastewater,while microbubble ozonation technology(MB/O3)can strengthen its performance on antibiotic removal due to its properties of small bubbles,slow rise rate,etc..In this study,the performances of CB/O3 and MB/O3 technologies on NOF removal from wastewater were investigated mainly in terms of norfloxacin(NOF)removal,TOC removal,UV254 removal,pH,liquid phase ozone concentration,and ozone utilization.And the UV-visible absorption spectra,three-dimensional fluorescence spectra,and first-order reaction kinetic fitting for both techniques were also analyzed.Finally,the experimental conditions for MB/O3 technology were optimized.The results showed that MB/O3 technology had a significant improvement in NOF,TOC,UV254 removal and ozone utilization over the CB/O3 technology by 7.49%,22.56%,64.08%and 20.04%,respectively.The optimal experimental conditions were following:NOF wastewater concentration of 50 mg·L-1(volume 10L);ozone dosage of 12 mg·min-1 and ozone gas flow rate of 300 mL·min-1.The above findings can provide a data support for MB/O3 technology in engineering applications.关键词
