Abstract

With the rapid development of China's economy and the acceleration of urbanization,the substantial amount of sludge generated in urban wastewater treatment poses a significant burden on both the environment and the economy.Therefore,this study investigated the drying rates,morphological characteristics,and resource utilization of sludge particles obtained through granulation of sludge with varying moisture contents,aiming to provide theoretical and technical support for sludge reduction,harmless treatment,and resource utilization.The findings revealed that:1)Sludge granulation could effectively enhance the drying rate,with the most pronounced improvement observed when granulating sludge with a moisture content between 20%and 30%;2)As the moisture content of the sludge increased during granulation,the bulk density of the formed particles gradually decreased,while the structural strength increased,and the microstructure transitions from cracked and rugged to smooth and flat;3)Activated carbon prepared from sludge particles exhibited good adsorption performance,with optimal adsorption achieved when using sludge granulated with a moisture content between 30%and 40%.These findings contribute to the efficient treatment and resource utilization of sludge,holding significant importance for promoting environmental protection and sustainable development.
