Characteristics of carotid plaque and its relationship with abnormal fasting blood glucose under high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging

Abstract
Objective To investigate the characteristics of carotid artery plaques under high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging,and analyze its relationship with abnormal fasting blood sugar in young patients.Methods Totally 120 young stroke patients admitted to the Cangzhou People's Hospital from January 2022 to December 2022 were selected as the study objects.Patients were divided into normal group(77 cases)and abnormal glucose tolerance group(43 cases)according to their fasting blood glucose level.Carotid artery ultrasound examination was performed on all patients.The characteristics of carotid artery plaque under high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging were summarized,and the relationship between carotid plaque and fasting blood glucose level was analyzed.Results Coronary heart disease,smoking history,homocysteine(Hcy)and low density lipoprotein(LDL)in the abnormal glucose tolerance group were significantly different from those in the normal group(P<0.05).The mean lumen area,mean tube wall area,lumen stenosis degree,intracavicular calcification and carotid plaque of patients in the abnormal glucose tolerance group had certain differences compared with those in the normal group(P<0.05).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that coronary heart disease,smoking history,Hcy,LDL,mean lumen area,mean tube wall area,stenosis degree of lumen,intracavity calcification and carotid plaque were risk factors for abnormal fasting blood glucose in young stroke patients(P<0.05).Pearson analysis showed that fasting blood glucose in young stroke patients was positively correlated with mean tube wall area,lumen stenosis,intracavity calcification and vulnerable carotid plaque(r=0.622,0.569,0.489,0.636,respectively,P<0.05),and negatively correlated with mean lumen area(r=-0.537,P<0.05).Conclusion There are certain differences in the characteristics of carotid plaque in young stroke patients with different fasting blood glucose levels under high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging,and there is a certain correlation between the fasting blood glucose level and the characteristics of carotid plaque in young stroke patients.关键词
