Digital Economy Development and Flexible Employment of Residents:Evidence from"Broadband China"
摘要
Abstract
This paper utilizes data from the China Family Panel Studies(CFPS)spanning 2010 to 2018,along with the"Broadband China"policy,to empirically test the impact of digital economy development on residents'flexible employment using a staggered differ-ence-in-differences(DID)method.The study finds that digital economy development significantly boosts flexible employment,partic-ularly among youth,low-educated individuals,and rural residents.Furthermore,the employment creation effect and internet informa-tion effect are key mechanisms driving this effect.Lastly,the study also finds that the development of the digital economy generally helps to improve the employment quality of flexible workers,but it also increases the risk of overwork while improving wages and job satisfaction.关键词
