Effect of bilateral repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation combined with occupational therapy on upper limb motor function in patients with stroke

Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of bilateral repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation combined with occu-pational therapy on upper limb motor function in patients with stroke.Methods A total of 64 stroke patients admitted to Quanzhou First Hospital Affiliated to Fujian Medical University from November 2021 to November 2023 were selected as the research objects,and they were divided into observation group(n=32)and control group(n=32)according to the random number table method.The control group was treated with occupational therapy,and the observation group was treated with occupational therapy combined with bilateral repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation.Both groups were treated for 4 weeks.The motor function and activities of daily living were compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,the scores of Fugl-Meyer assessment-upper extremity(FMA-UE),Wolf motor function test(WMFT),and modified Barthel index(MBI)in the observation group were higher than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion Bilateral repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation combined with occupational therapy is superior to single occupational therapy in improving upper limb motor function and activities of daily living in stroke patients,which is worthy of clinical promotion.关键词
