Abstract
To understand the prevalence of Mannheimia haemolytica(Mh)and Pasteurella multocida(Pm)of cattle in china,A total of 344 nasal cotton swabs from 21 cattle farms with bovine respiratory disease syndrome(BRDC)in seven provinces(autonomous region)of Sichuan,Ningxia and Inner Mongolia were tested for typing,bacterial isolation and virulence.The results showed that the detection rates of Mh and Pm in 344 samples were 27.3%and 14.8%respectively,and the mixed infection rate was 28.6%.Mh type A1 and Mh type A6 accounted for 55.9%(38/68)and 44.1%(30/68),respectively,and Pm type A and B accounted for 66.7%(23/34)and 33.3%(11/34),respectively.Six Mh type A1 strains,four Mh type A6 strains,11 Pm capsule type A strains and six PM capsule type B strains were isolated.The results showed that four Mh A6 strains and one Mh A1 strain could partially kill mice,the highest and lowest lethal doses were 1010 and 105 CFU/mL,respectively.All 17 Pm isolates were 100%lethal to mice,and the highest and lowest lethal doses were 106 and 10 CFU/mL,respectively.Studies have shown that Mh and Pm are important pathogens causing BRDC in local cattle,and mixed infection is common.The prevalence of Mh A1 is higher than Mh A6,but the virulence of Mh A6 is higher than that of Mh A1.The detection rate of Pm capsule type A was higher than that of Pm capsule type B.关键词
