Abstract

In order to improve individual milk production of cows and reduce production costs,a precise feeding device for individual cows was designed,which integrated automatic identification of individual cows,automatic monitoring of feed intake,control of feeding permissions of cows,automatic data collection,analysis,and processing.This device used wire-less radio frequency identification technology to identify the identity of cows,a radiation detector to determine the position of individual cows,a weighing sensor to monitor the weight changes of feed in the feeding trough in real-time,and the control system to achieve automatic measurement and differential feeding of individual cow feed intake based on the set daily feed intake of individual cows.The experimental results showed that the individual recognition rate of cows was 100%,the recognition accuracy of the radiation detector was not less than 98%,the response time of the feeding gate opening was not more than 2.5 s,and the measurement error of individual cow feed intake was 8.6%.This device effec-tively achieved online,real-time,and automated data collection and analysis of individual feed intake,feed frequency,and feed behavior of cows.This device can serve as an experimental platform for research on individual fine breeding of cows,new feed formulas,and innovative breeding models.
